Iraqi 001071 active again. It's been a while but here it is again and deep in Iraqi airspace. A provocation. They stayed out of Iraq for a while possibly related to the new sheriff in the US and increased US activity in Iraq but it didn't last long. This is a threat to the US and 'allied' forces in Iraq seeing as the meanies there vowed to strike against them if they allowed Turkey to continue these lethal incursions. If it were me -- which it isn't, a good thing no doubt -- I'd have one of my F-somethings buzz it and rattle it with the wake-turbulence. I mean it's in a hot zone, it's ICAO etc is all off, how am I to know it's not a hostile ? And if it tumbles from the sky as a result : what was it doing there anyway loitering like that upsetting the natives ?
It moved off, changed it's call sign and appears to be going for another incursion. The aircraft 'below' it, West of Baghdad is the RAF KC2 Voyager that flew in earlier so it and the EUFIs and other jets it's supporting must be near too and none of them cannot not have seen the drone.
