The flights are not really relevant the point here is Jeddah. There appears to be a problem at Jeddah airport. Flights for Jeddah were first flying a holding pattern and then diverted to Medina -- likely before running out of fuel. Ramadan is about to start could that be a factor ?Ethiopian Airlines flight to Jeddah holding over the Red Sea.
A flight of one of the usual suspects -- not flying to Jeddah -- diverts and 'hooks' around Jeddah.
Something is seriously off : same situation in Riyadh !
Riyadh and Jeddah have re-opened.
Update : What the papers say. Oddly enough none of the reports I've seen so far mention Riyadh.
