Here you see why Albert is called Albert. Alberts, C130s stationed at Akrotiri, every now and then buzz around the airfield and do a few touch-and-goes using the call sign "ALBERT". So when they go off on short missions -- to Erbil and back -- without a call sign we refer to them as "Albert" and the mission as "an Albert".Operations
