Apart from the political and humane, nay inhumane nature of this transport also note that again like with all other transports to Azerbaijan, on the return trip all aircraft make a point of stopping at one of the airports in the 'dark' area of Turkish air space near the border with Syria and Iraq. I can't imagine any operational reasons for doing so -- but then I'm not a Turkish air force general -- but it does mess up their tracks.
