CommentFlying for Turkey again ? So weird.
@ 20:48 UTC : I knew this whole bizarre business needed looking at.
Just like they flew from Istres (LFMI) into West-Africa as if they were the French air force, Qatari C17s also appear to be imitating Turkish foreign transports : flying from their base to Etimesgut Air Base (ANK) near Ankara and then on to their final destination :

11/09 - 09/09 - Mogadishu 02/09 - Marrakech 14/08 - Mogadishu
Why ?
Apart from that, it appears likely that those C17s, like this one, did not all fly from Etimesgut (ANK) but from Mürted Airfield Command (LTAE).
Like Tekirdağ Çorlu Airport (TEQ) is literally on the doorstep of Baykar, maker of the Bayraktar and other very popular UAVs, Mürted Airfield Command (LTAE) is on the doorstep of another Turkish manufacturer of UAVs and aircraft : Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).
So, is Qatar helping out Turkey delivering goodies to its client-nations or are they helping out the client-nation themselves, maybe even footing the bill at TAI, thus supporting the Turkish (military) economy killing two birds with one stone ?
Either way, it must be in close cooperation with Turkey.
That leaves the question of what their magouille with the French is about.
Funny chaps these Qataris, hmm.
